Liverpool để thua 0-1 trên sân Leicester ở trận đấu thuộc vòng 20 Premier League, qua đó lỡ cơ hội rút ngắn khoảng cách với đội đầu bảng Man City.

Liverpool đang sở hữu hàng công "khủng", đội bóng của huấn luyện viên Klopp ghi 50 bàn sau 18 trận ở Premier League, ngang bằng với thành tích của đội đầu bảng Man City đã thi đấu 19 trận. Hai chân sút đang dẫn đầu danh sách ghi bàn là Salah và Jota đều của Liverpool.

Với Liverpool, đây là trận thứ hai liên tiếp không thắng ở Premier League, tuần trước họ hòa 2-2 với Tottenham.

Man City đang có 47 điểm, hơn Liverpool và Chelsea tới 6 điểm. Khoảng cách giữa Man City và Liverpool có thể được gia tăng thành 9 điểm nếu Man City thắng Brentford vào rạng sáng mai, Chelsea cũng vượt mặt Liverpool giành vị trí nhì bảng nếu có điểm trước Brighton.
