Thẻ từ ATM bị "khai tử" sau 31/12

 Nhiều ngân hàng đã gửi thông báo đến người dùng về việc các thẻ ATM từ sẽ chính thức bị ngừng hỗ trợ và không được chấp nhận trên các điểm giao dịch trên toàn quốc từ sau ngày 31/12.

Theo lộ trình đề ra tại Thông tư 41 của Ngân hàng Nhà nước (NHNN) ban hành ngày 28/12/2018, đến ngày 31/12 năm nay, toàn bộ thẻ thanh toán đang lưu hành của các tổ chức phát hành thẻ Việt Nam sẽ phải tuân thủ tiêu chuẩn cơ sở của thẻ chip nội địa.

Như vậy, từ sau ngày 31/12, 100% thẻ ATM đang hoạt động tại Việt Nam phải là dạng thẻ chip, loại thẻ từ vốn được sử dụng phổ biến trước đây chính thức bị "khai tử" và không còn được chấp nhận sử dụng tại các cây ATM rút tiền và các điểm/thiết bị thanh toán khác.

Theo quy định, từ sau ngày 31/12, 100% thẻ ATM đang hoạt động tại Việt Nam phải là dạng thẻ chip, loại thẻ từ vốn được sử dụng phổ biến trước đây chính thức bị "khai tử" (Ảnh: N.H).

Theo hướng dẫn từ các ngân hàng, có 2 cách phổ biến để đổi thẻ từ sang thẻ chip. Cách thứ nhất, khách hàng chỉ cần mang chứng minh thư hoặc hộ chiếu, hoặc thẻ căn cước công dân còn hiệu lực đến điểm giao dịch của ngân hàng và đề nghị chuyển đổi từ thẻ từ sang thẻ chip.

Cách thứ hai là có thể truy cập vào ứng dụng ngân hàng số, mobile banking để thực hiện và nhận thẻ tại nhà hoặc tại điểm giao dịch của ngân hàng.

Trên thực tế, từ 31/3 năm nay, các ngân hàng đã chấm dứt việc phát hành thẻ từ. Song song với đó, các nhà băng cũng đang chạy đua nước rút chuyển đổi sang thẻ chip nội địa nhằm bảo đảm thực hiện đúng lộ trình. Để thúc đẩy khách hàng đổi thẻ từ sang thẻ chip, đa số ngân hàng đều miễn phí cho dịch vụ này thời gian qua và hiện nhiều ngân hàng vẫn miễn phí. Trong khi đó, một số đã dừng khuyến mại và sẽ dừng trước thời điểm 31/12.

Sau thời gian miễn phí, khách hàng sẽ thực hiện đổi thẻ từ sang thẻ chip với mức phí tương tự mức phí đổi thẻ thông thường, và tùy theo quy định của từng ngân hàng, phổ biến nhất là 50.000 đồng/lần.
